Our goal is to help hosts reach guests who are looking for unique and local places to stay. Your StayAltered place listing is how you can share the story of what makes your place special!

Our top 6 tips for a great place listing!

  1. Desktop is better to complete your listing than mobile.
  2. The featured image is the thumbnail and the main image of your listing. Choose something that really showcases the essence of your place.
  3. Photos look best if they are horizontal, and between 200 KB and 10 MB in size (we cannot include smaller images on your listing).
  4. StayAltered guests love to know the story and the people behind the places they stay in. Tell them about you, your inspiration, your sustainability practices, and special details, Share what makes your place a Place to StayAltered!
  5. You can come back and edit your listing at any time to keep it up to date. We recommend you check back often and update anything new you’d like to share.
  6. We often showcase places with our community via social media, newsletters, blogs, and events. If you have news to share, please let us know so we can include you!

Getting started

First, go to www.stayaltered.com and sign in (remember to use the same account you signed up with). In the panel on the left, under ‘Host’, click 🔥Hub. This is your dashboard for creating and editing your place listing. Click ‘Add Place’ to start.

Please note: Click “Submit” to save your information. You can return at any time and come back to finish it later, but all sections of your listing must be completed for it to be saved and published.

Basics

  • The name of your place should be the full name of your property and be the exact same name you use on Google, your website, and all other channels for search engine optimization, for example: Archeo Café and Hostel, and not just “Archeo”.

Hosting

  • Email: This is where confirmation emails and booking requests will be sent from StayAltered Guests, so please make sure it’s an email that is checked regularly to ensure a timely response.
  • Tags: Each section specifies how many search tags in each category to describe your place. This will help guests to filter their results to find exactly what they’re looking for, so add all the tags that apply.

Details

  • In this section, you can add more tags to tell guests about what they can expect at your place, from amenities and food, to local activities and attractions. This will help your listing appear in search results.
  • Stories: This is your opportunity to tell guests what makes you and your place unique, so go into as much detail as you like.
  • The tagline will be the heading of your listing, so add a sentence that sums up your place.

Media

  • Upload photos to show a range of aspects of your place - this could be rooms, staff, common areas, activities, etc.
  • Do your best to categorize the photos according to “Incredible Place, Inspiring People and Impactful Planet” as they will show up in each of the different sections of your listing.
  • Please only use photos that are between 200 KB and 10 MB in size, and ideally horizontal / landscape.
  • Please note that you must own the copyright to your photos and videos for us to be able to use them.

Don’t forget to click ‘Submit’ when you are done. Once all the sections are complete and your billing plan is updated, our team will review your listing and publish it. You are welcome to edit your listing at any time to keep it updated!
